No matter how old you are or what your fitness goals are, an important aspect of healthy living is staying in shape. And while your fitness levels with change and fluctuate, you should make staying in shape a top priority throughout your life. Just remember, to stay in shape you don’t have to dedicate hours of your time to exercises and never eat what you want. But by making healthy choices a habit, you will be able to maintain a good level of fitness over your lifetime.

Staying in shape can be best achieved by participating in a regular exercise regimen. To best maintain your weight and physical fitness, you should try to set aside thirty minutes per day to devote to being active. But don’t think that you have to vigorously exercise each day. Try to mix up your physical activities by taking a walk one day, going for a bike ride on anther day. By varying the type of activity that you participate in, you’ll be more like to stick with an exercise program and to work the most muscle groups.

Another key aspect of staying in shape is monitoring the kinds of food you eat and how much you eat. No matter who you are, if you consume more calories than you burn, you will gain weight. To lose weight you must take in fewer calories than you burn. So when you are monitoring your calorie intake, substitute fresh fruits and vegetable for sugar snacks that are low in nutrients.
